Insipied by Richard Dana Jr.’s memoir, ‘Two Year Before the Mast’, le voyage Loggia brings the ocean and merchant ships to life in this soothing outdoor space.”

The Space comes to life through the free flow of the surrounding sea and complimented with natural elements like stone, metal, fire, water & the ocean breeze. The Loggia offers a seaworthy design incorporating contemporary custom steel furniture in a coral motif, finished in an oil-rubbed bronze and soften by the plush upholstered smokey gray cushions, contrasted by striped canvas throw pillows. Picture the merchant ships, portrayed through a trunk-like coffee table in the center, made of distressed hand planked wood with a brulee finish braced on coral metal legs. View the water though the punches of aqua blue that break up the monochromatic scheme in the form of throw pillows, accent and a pair of swivel club chairs upholstered in outdoor leather, with a nautical hand knotted feature at the exposed back. Sense the warmth emanating from the raw steel fire box suspended from the ceiling, lit by candle lanterns. Allow the backdrop of the ocean view to become the focal point, while the soothing space compliments and ceases to compete.

Designing For A Cause

Who said a trip to Italy is too far away? Well, for a few weeks you can you can take the short drive to Orange County’s Coto de Caza and feel like you’re in the heart of Tuscany!

It’s once again time for the annual House of Design and this year it has a nice Italian theme. In case you’ve never heard of it before, here’s some background on the event, put together by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County’s Youth Music Education Programs:

The Philharmonic House of Design is a unique collaboration of design and music that brings together premier Interior Designers to transform a selected estate into a stunning showcase for the public to tour.

For more than two decades, the House of Design has been the largest fundraising effort every year for the Philharmonic Society of Orange County’s Youth Music Education Programs.

Located in Coto de Caza (Southeast Orange County near Rancho Santa Margarita), this year’s house is an exquisite two-acre, 7,000 square feet estate reminiscent of an authentic Italian Villa. Take one step inside and you feel like you’re in the heart of Italy…the only thing missing is a Gondola ride!

Much to our delight, the , Philharmonic Society of Orange County’s Design House Committee, selected PH Design’s own Ana Maria Martinez-Stumpo to design the outdoor covered and open air patio spaces, The Loggia and the Al Fresco Patio.

Al-Fresco-Wing-Chair-e1366870658901Ana Maria’s design calls for wrought iron furniture with laser cut designs.  The outdoor wing chairs are manufactured with treated wood and upholstered outdoor leather and are perfect for relaxing in comfort and style while sitting by the fireplace.

Once the House of Design opens to the public, all of the pieces Ana Maria designs for the patio spaces will be available for sale and all items will be made to order with a 4-6 week lead time.
